Venezuelan Pres. Chavez Calls for Ban on Halloween

In his weekly TV and radio broadcast, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez declared that Halloween is part of the United States' culture of "putting fear into other nations, putting fear into their own people".

Though no mention or connection was mentioned in the broadcast, earlier this month, several indictments were handed down after jack o'lanters carved with anti-government messages appeared around Caracas.
